What I Offer

Hatha Yoga

A calm, steady practice designed to strengthen the body, improve flexibility and bring balance to your day. My Hatha classes use mindful movement and breath to gently ease stiffness, reduce stress and help you feel more grounded. Ideal for beginners and anyone seeking a supportive, traditional yoga practice.

Somatic Yoga

A slow, therapeutic approach that focuses on releasing tension and supporting natural, comfortable movement. Somatic Yoga helps reset habitual patterns in the body, making it especially beneficial for those dealing with pain, injury recovery or stress-related tightness. Expect gentle awareness-based exercises that soothe the nervous system and increase mobility.

Meditation & Mindfulness

Simple, guided meditation practices that quiet the mind, soften anxiety and create space for inner peace. Through breath awareness and grounding techniques, you’ll learn tools you can carry into everyday life. Perfect for complete beginners as well as those wanting to deepen their mindfulness practice.

Melanie began her yoga journey in 2004 after a period of backpacking the world, an experience that awakened in her a deep, transformative connection to yoga and its potential beyond physical exercise. On returning home she retrained as a yoga teacher, earning a 500-hour Teacher Training Diploma through the British Wheel of Yoga, and then continued studying under internationally respected teachers including Simon Low and Donna Farhi. Over time she expanded her practice to include somatic approaches and healing-oriented yoga work — becoming a certified Gentle Somatic Yoga Practitioner — and added training in meditation (Dru Meditation), so that she could offer yoga as a comprehensive path of physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

At the core of Melanie’s teaching philosophy is the belief that yoga is for everyone, regardless of flexibility, experience, age, or physical condition. Her classes are described as gentle, inclusive, grounded in compassion rather than perfectionism — with adaptations, breathwork, and somatic awareness offered so each person can engage with what feels right for their body and mind. Whether a complete beginner, someone coping with injury or chronic pain, or a long-time practitioner, students are invited to explore yoga as a space for self-care, self-discovery, deep rest, and resilience. Through her teaching, Melanie aims to help people carry the benefits of yoga — calmness, strength, self-acceptance, awareness — into their everyday lives.
